Endosulfan banned in Karnataka and Kerala

A negative impact on Endosulfan application on human health has been reported in the parts of Karnataka and Kerala, the use of Endosulfan may be put on hold in these states.  
Barring Karnataka and Kerala, the other states demanded that the ban should not be imposed on the sale of Endosulfan, recommends the interim report submitted to the Supreme Court on Friday, by its joint committee headed by Director General of ICMR and Commissioner of Agriculture.
Endosulfan case t$=The Supreme Court on May 13 had constituted a joint committee to submit an interim report on whether Endosulfan is a serious health hazard. The report recommends Endosulfan as the cheapest pesticide.
The report informs that the other pesticides are not only expensive but also toxic to pollinators, honey bees and require careful handling. Besides recording the statements of local doctors the team has made no effort to get to the bottom of truth.
The report reveals that 1,94,910 kg of technical and 818518.50 of formulation of Endosulfan with a life of two years was stocked in the country. This can be allowed to export to other countries. But the report adds that if the Endosulfan is banned in other countries, then it becomes difficult to dispose.
