The Supreme Court has issued a notice to Anna Hazare on a public interest litigation seeking a CBI probe into the allegation of mismanagement of funds by Anna's NGO Hind Swaraj Trust.
The court has also issued notices to the Maharshtra government and the CBI on a plea by the petitioner Supreme Court advocate M L Sharma.
The petition alleges that Anna Hazare's NGO did not maintain its accounts from the year 1995 to 2003, of funds given to it by the Maharashtra government and the Centre.
The NGO had already admitted the report of the PB Sawant Commission that had investigated complaints about it.
The Supreme Court has also issued a notice to CAPART, an organization under the Rural Development Ministry, which disburses grants to NGO's.
