The CID of Tamil Nadu police on Sunday confirmed that a retired army officer had killed a 13 year old Chennai teen named K Dilson. Addressing a press conference, ADGP R Sekar confirmed tat Retd Lt Col K Ramaraj, 58, had been arrested with the killing. Sources confirmed to the new reporter that the army officer had confessed to the crime. The mystery behind the sensational killing of K Dilson was solved with the process of scientific elimination and mobile phone location analysis in the army enclave last Sunday, said the police. ADGP R Sekar told the media on Sunday morning at the CB-CID Headquarters that a US made, 30 double-barrel rifle, used to shoot the teenager has been recovered along with the bullets thrown into the Cooum river. The accused added to it that the gun which he was using was his personal unlicensed weapon and he pulled the trigger from his first floor balcony. The retired officer never informed about possessing this weapon. The fact that the Army officer had a weapon came into limelight through his application for renewal of license. The accused, a native of Madurai, was Assistant Engineer (Small Weapons) with the Army and retired from service on April 30.
