Army blasts house, kills 5 LeT militants in Kashmir


Indian security forces on today evening blasted off the house in which five Lashkar-e-Taiba militants were hiding, killingall of them.
During the encounter, one soldier also lost his life in the battle.
Major General Ravi Thodge, General Office Commanding, Kilo said with the elimination of top commanders Hamad and Saqib. The militant has suffered a serious setback.
The GoC said the security forces before starting the firefight had ensured that the occupants of the house were moved out safely.
Earlier, there had been reports suggesting that the militants had taken some people hostage.
Earlier in June, another top Lashkar commander Zebran was killed by the army in the jungles of Rajwar-Handwara.
Major Thodge said "these two operational successes in quick succession has seriously undermined the operational capability of Lashkar in North Kashmir".
