Police said that a 12-year-old girl from Mumbra township was allegedly raped and subsequently murdered. Police Inspector P.N. Gughe of Mumbra police station said the girl, a sixth grader was a resident of Mumbra Devi colony and was returning home last evening when the accused Bhagarsingh Rathod abducted her and then sexually abused her at a lonely place.
Police said that he later killed her and dumped her body in a gunny bag and left it outside a house. The police have registered the offences under Sections 363, 376, 302, 201 of IPC against the accused and still the hunt is on for him.
