The Supreme Court has sought the Uttar Pradesh government's response on a doctor's plea for CBI probe into the alleged kidnapping of his wife, also a physician and no sigh of her whereabouts for the past five months.
A bench comprising of Justices A K Ganguly and J S Khehar asked the advocates on record Sirish Mishra to take notice on behalf of the state after Brijesh Tyagi through his counsel Ajay Agarwal alleged that the local police was in conspiracy with the kidnappers, hence, a CBI probe was needed which could help in tracking his wife Suman, who is in her 40's.
The family claimed that it had made representations to the Prime Minister, Chief Minister, Union Home Minister, NHRC and several other top functionaries, but the disappearance of the woman still continues to be a mystery.
According to a local BJP councillor, Brijesh, Suman who owns a clinic 25 km away from their home at Meerut, was apparently kidnapped on June 27, while travelling in a tempo near Macchhra village.
