Xinjiang attackers trained in Pakistan, says China.

On Monday the Chinese Government blamed a group of extremists trained in terror camps in Pakistan for orchestrating this weekend's violence in the far Western Xinjiang region that left atleast 20 people dead.

It was found in an initial probe into the violence that the attackers has learned skills of making explosives and fire arms in overseas camps of the terrorist group East Turkistan Islamic Movement (ETIM) in Pakistan.

The Pakistani media reported that the chief of Pakistan's ISI, Lieutenant-General Shuja Pasha had arrived in Beijing on Monday on a secret visit.

The reports to the ISI chief's trip was neither confirmed nor denied by the officials in Beijing, though the Chinese analysts told The Hindu that the two countries would certainly discuss counter terrorism cooperation in the wake of Xinjiang attacks.

The Pakistan Foreign office said in Islamabad that it would continue to extent it full cooperation and support to China against the ETIM.

However, it was stated by the Pakistani officials that, over the attacks, no official communication had been received from Beijing.

According to an official in the Xinjiangs's Government's regional Information office, an investigation into the involvement of overseas terrorist groups in the attack was still under way.

There were also many incidents that followed a July 21^st attack on a police station in Hotan, also in Xinjiang, which killed atleast 18 people.

The blame was initially put by the Government upon the 'rioters' but later described the incident as a 'severely violent terrorism case.'
