| The Lokpal Bill is ready to be tabled in the monsson session of Parliament beginning August 1st, and will be presented to the Cabinet next week, the Government said. The Minister of Affairs of State for Parliamentary Affairs, V Narayanasamy said that the Lokpal Bill is ready and it will tabled before the Parliament in the next week. He also added that the bill will be placed in the parliament and will be referred to the standing committee. After getting the standing committee report, our government is committed to see the Lokpal bill passed with the support of all political parties. The Human Resource Development minister Kapil Sibal said that the entire nation and the entire governmnt were ready to take action against the corruption. IT Raid in houses of Mohanlal and Mammootty
Income Tax department raid started at 6.30 am on Friday morning with around 80 income tax department officials. The raid took place same time in the house of supter star Mammootty in Ernakulam and his offices of
Trivandrum, Bangalore and Channai. The superstar Mohanlal's house raid started with full corporation of the mega star Mohanlal.
The Tax officials also conducted raid at the house of Antony Perumbavoor who is the driver of actor Mohanlal.
The raid process still continued till late evening. Reports says that there was huge difference in income tax return
statements of both the super stars of Kerala. Mammootty who was in Chennai today will be reaching his
residence to open some of his shelves which the officials agreed to open in his presence.
Mohanlal will be reaching his house in Trivandrum after 2 days to open 2 shelves which are using biometric locking system The biometric locks were not able to open by the income tax official as it needs the fingure impression of Mohanlal of his Wife. Mohanlal is now at Rameswaram with Director Blessy in his new film shooting. In the residence of Mohanlal in Trivandrum was raided by Tax official where his old mother was staying. The reports says that the income tax department has raided many documents showing his remuneration was 1.5 crore per film.
The officials found many documents showing real estate deals and business setups of Mohanlal in various places of
India and abroad.
Tunisian President Ben Ali's trial postponed
| The trial of Tunisia's president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali has been postponed followed by a request from his lawyer. He was supposed to be present for the trial along with his daughter Nessrin Ben Ali and son-in-law Sakhr El Materi. The trial has been postponed to July 28. The decision to postpone the case was taken at the request of the defendants so that then they can better prepare the case. The charges levelled against the accused are two real-estate corruption cases involving buying of land for 23 Tunisian dinars per sq. mtr, a price well below the original price. The plots were later resold at 1,500 Tunisian dinars per sq.mtr by his daughter and son-in-law. Ben Ali was forced to flee to Saudi Arabia along with his wife and three children on January 14 after an uprising in Tunisia. Reported by AR |
