Mumbai lawyer held for molesting air-hostess

A lawyer from Mira Road named Chandan Shrivastav, has been arrested for allegedly molesting and cheating air-hostess who had consulted him to fight a case against an airline.

After the complainant, was asked to resign by a domestic airline, she requested Shrivastav on October 25, 2011 to file a case against the aairline for allegedly not paying her salaries and dues. The victim complained that Shrivastav took the originals of her important documents but did not file a case for a month. She added that all he did was insisting her to meet her and nothing else.

The police said that on November 23, when the victim went to meet Shrivastav in his office, next to Mira Road police station, he allegedly tried to hold her hand and tried to kiss her. When she protested, he refused to give back her papers. After she lodged a complaint, Shrivastav went absconding and later on filed an application for anticipatory bail in Thane Sessions Court and the High Court, but did not get one. On Tuesday, acting on a tip-off, the police arrested him from Thane sessions court. Another complainant Arjun Saini had also lodged a cheating case against Shrivastav after he took Rs. 45,000 from Saini to fight a case which never saw the light of the day.

Three FIRs and 19 complaints were filed against Shrivastav.
