Yoga Guru Ramdev was the target of a man who threw black ink upon his face in a press conference on Saturday, while he was addressing on his plans to campaign against black money in the upcoming Assembly elections.
Seated along with the Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy at the Constitution Club in New Delhi, Ramdev's left eye was blackened with ink by the man identified as Kamran Siddiqui, a resident of Delhi who is running an NGO named 'Real Cause', which is a petitioner in the Batla House encounter case.
Ramdev's supporters caught him red handed and manhanded him before police took him away. The man's shirt was torn and removed, and his lips was bleeding.
Jaideep, Ramdev's close aide claims that Siddique had gained entry into the hall carrying a walkie talkie apparently posing as a security personnel. He also claimed that a bottle of acid as well was recovered from Siddique.
Ramdev, who wound up the press conference immediately, later on claimed that he was not frightened of such attacks and would continue his campaign with full force against corruption.
Before the incident, Siddique had sought Ramdev's opinion on the 2008 Batla House Encounter in which the suspects of the Delhi serial blasts were killed.
The yoga guru had ignored the question and soon after the attack took place.
