Yeddyurappa gets bail in one case, orders reserved in another

Karnataka High Court on Thursday granted bail to Karnataka Chief Minister B.S Yeddyurappa in a draft case but reserved its order in another to Friday.
Justice B.V. Pinto allowed the bail plea of B.S. Yeddyurappa in one of the two complaints in which he has been arrested and reserved the order on the other after hearing the arguments by both the parties.
Mr. Yeddyurappa got relief in the assets denotification case in which he was the accused.  The verdict on Friday on the fourth on similar allegation will decide whether he will walk free from judicial custody to which he has been remanded since October 15.
Justice Pinto said criminal jurisprudence principles would not go to the extent of denying a person the right to personal liberty on the basis of allegations levelled against him, while ordering conditional bail to Yeddyurappa whereby he had to furnish a security of Rs. 5 lakhs and not to destroy the evidence.
The judge said that it was too early to decide if Yeddyurappa was guilty or not based on the credence of the documents submitted to the court was yet to be proved.
The bail plea order of former minister S.N. Krishnaiah Shetty, arrested along with Mr. Yeddyurappa, has also been reserved on Friday.
Besides, Mr. Yeddyurappa, his two sons, B.Y. Raghavendra, a Lok Sabha member and B.Y. Vijendra and son-in-law  R.N. Sohan Kumar who are among the accused, has sought anticipatory bail.
Lokayukta Court Judge N.K. Sudhindra Rao extended the judicial custody of Yeddyurappa and Shetty till November 15.
