Supreme Court shocked by number of Pakistani's in Indian jails

Supreme Court on Friday expressed their shock over the death of more than 250 Pakistanis were being held in Indian jails without ever having faced trial, with at least one behind the bars since 1965. The court after hearing a public interest case filed by a member of the public, ordered the Central Government to file a comprehensive report explaining the detentions.
Supreme Court Judge R N Lodha qouted that it was shocking to see that over 254 Pakistani's were suffering in the jails even without undergoing a trial.
The court heard that the inmates are being held in the north-western state of Jammu and Kashmir, with many thought to be the people arrested after unwittingly crossing the disputed border in the area.  Among the convicts, four are women.
The Prime Minister of India andPakistan said on Thursday that they are expected to open a new chapter in their complaining relationships after holding talks at a regional summit in the Maldives.
The countries have fought three wars since independence 1947.
