Probe ordered against Karnataka Chief Minister

Lokayukta court on Thursday, directed the Lokayukta SP to register a case against the Karnataka Home Minister R Ashok, under Section 156 (3) of Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) who was accused of being involved in illegal denotification of government land.
Section 156 (3) of CrPC says that any magistrate empowered under Section 190 (cognizance of offences by magistrates) may order for an investigation.
Lokayukta Special Court Judge N K Sudhindra Rao also directed the Lokayukta SP to investigate the matter and to submit a report on the alleged denotification of government land on November 5.
Jayakumar Hiremath, an RTI activist, had filed a complaint accusing Ashok of being involved in the illegal denotification of government land causing an estimated loss of Rs. 50 crore to the state ex-chequer .
Hiremath in his complaint said the minister had allegedly denotified 9.12 guntas and 14 guntas of land belonging to  Bangalore Development  Authority in Lottegollahalli when B S Yeddyurppa was the Chief Minister.
Yeddyurappa is termed as the second accused in the complaint.
