Death toll in Dudhsagar diary fire rises to seven

Accoding to the officials, the death toll in Dudhsagar dairy fire today went upto seven after two more bodies were recovered. A major fire was broke out in the Dudhsagar diary in Mehsana district, one of the biggest diaries in Asia.
Earlier the death toll was remarked at five while 22 others were injured. Later today the death toll was raised to seven with the reporting of two more deaths. Officials said that the four of the injured persons were serious and were shifted to the Ahmedabad's Apollo Hospital while others were admitted to the Lions Hospital here.
The diary is an affiliate of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation that markets its products under the brand name 'Amul'.
A report of the forensic laboratory would be used to identify the dead bodies which still remains unrecognised. Dudhsagar diary Chairman Vipul Chaudhary told reporters that a monetary compensation of between Rs. 5 to Rs. 25 lakh would be considered for the kin of those who lost their lives in the fire attack.
Mehsana District Collector Rajkumar Beniwal said that the fire has now been brought under control.  Also added that a panel of experts will try and find out the reasons behind the massive fire. The building housing the diary collapsed following the fire that broke out after a leakage in one of the gas pipelines.
