Lokpal: VHP calls for support to Hazare

Coming out in support of a strong Lokpal, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) said today that the Anna Hazare's movement for anti-corruption ombudsman requires the strong backing up of people.

VHP President Ashok Singh told the reporters that Anna Hazare is alone in his fight for a strong Lokpal Bill and people from across the whole country should extend their whole hearted support for it, only then they can achieve a strong Lokpal bill.

The Union Cabinet on Thursday adopted the draft of the anti-corruption Lokpal bill that is to be tabled in the Parliament during the upcoming monsoon session.

The Anna Hazare and his team have described the Lokpal Bill as a "deceit on the nation".

Hazare has urged his demand for a strong Lokpal Bill for which he is all set to go for an indefinite fast on August 16th demanding the withdrawal of the government's Lokpal Bill. Delhi Police, however has denied the permission to carry on the fast at Jantar Mantar on August 16th.
