The Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa has finally stepped down on Sunday. Yeddyurappa has declared his successor Sadananda Gowda as the next CM, but unfortunately it is not the High Command's choice.
After three days of hard bargaining and a dramatic padayatra from his home to the Raj Bhavan, the MLA finally quits but only after naming his choice of the next CM.
But this term, the BJP High Command is not interested in the terms and conditions put forward by Yeddyurappa.
Former Cabinet Minister Ramdas said "opinion of each legislator has taken and will be considered and said that they will collectively selecta new leader".
Sources however revealed the fact that the BJP legislative members are likely to meet very soon on Tuesday , and Sadananda Gowda is expected to be his successor.
Talks are still continuing between Yeddyurappa and the top BJP leaders.
But whoever succeds, Yeddyurappa willl have to project a clean image of with the party getting hit with the Rs.12000 crore mining scam, just ahead of the Parliament session where it plans to cover the government over corruption.
