Senios advocate and BJP MP Ram Jethmalani on Monday denied that he had accused BJP of having played a substantial role in arranging the money in the cash-for-vote scam of 2008 and had accused the media of misreporting.
He said on a function in Mumbai that he had not done anything of that kind. And the reports which are being spread is not appropriate.
He added that there was no evidence that Amar Singh gave the money and in the charge sheet, it doesn't say that Amar Singh has given the money. Amar Singh has not arranged the sting operation either.
Talking to the reporters outside the court, Jethmalani reportedly said that there are no allegations against Amar Singh in the charge sheet and Advani had said that he had arranged for the sting operation.
The BJP, however, sought to make light of the embarassment saying Jethmalani was acting in his capacity as a lawyer and it would not like to comment as the matter is sub-judice.
